Inspired by a lush garden of waterlillies, I knew I could create a piece full of color and texture & I think this piece captures the essence of it perfectly...
a large waterlily leaf was cut from thick copper, hammered to have the edges curl up slightly & then dapple planish texture hammered across its surface. The leaf was then painted with a verdigris finish, which varies in it's intensity. It also keeps a wet look in some parts on the leaf, making it look like it was just pulled from the water. The lotus flower resting on the edge of the leaf was all handcut from sterling. it has three layers, a larger set of petals, a smaller set inside of that & then one pink pearl to add a little color & to offset the brilliant green.
the pendant is stamped on the back with my 'sudlow' signature & hangs from a soldered sterling loop on a black cable choker. The choker closes with a magnetic clasp & the pendant can slide off to be put on the chain of your choice if preferred.
The leaf measures just under 2.5" long with the loop (6cm), the cable choker is 16" long
This piece is handmade, so expect some slight variation from the picture. to see in stock pieces & choose your favorite, email me first at rachael.sudlow@gmail.com
