Enameled Waterlily Necklace

Inspired by a lush garden of waterlillies, I knew I could create a piece full of color and texture & I think this piece captures the essence of it perfectly...
A large waterlily leaf was cut from thick copper, hammered to have the edges curl up slightly & then dapple planished texture hammered across its surface. It was then enameled with a beautiful array of greens & blues. The enamel makes it look like it was just pulled from the water.
The lotus flower resting on the edge of the leaf was all handcut from sterling. it has three layers, a larger set of petals, a smaller set inside of that & then one pink pearl to add a little color & to offset the brilliant green.
The back has been given a protective coating of blue enamel.
The necklace wire is a coated cable. It closes with a magnetic clasp. The wire measures 18" The leaf measures about 2" (just over 5cm).
Comes in a little gift box, perfect for that special present.
